Drug Take Back Day is April 27

| April 24, 2019 4:00 AM

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day will be held April 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 35 collection sites across Montana. The event is an effort to rid homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.

Local collection sites will be at the Whitefish Police Department, Ronan Police Department, and the Polson Police Department.

The disposal service is free and anonymous. The DEA cannot accept liquids, needles, or sharps, only pills or patches. Flushing medications down the toilet or throwing them in the trash pose safety and health hazards.
