MISSOULA — Glacier Wolfpack softball had a productive day against Missoula teams, first routing Big Sky 25-0 and then edging Sentinel 4-3 on Thursday in Western AA play.

Sammie Labrum had a double in the first inning, had a grand slam and homered in the second versus Big Sky.

“It was a great way to start off the day to get that win,” Glacier coach Abby Connolly said.

Emma Anderson pitched a three-inning no hitter and had two doubles.

Megan Eckert, Sophie Smith and Labrum each had five RBIs.

Things were tighter against Sentinel.

Smith’s two RBI single in the third inning gave Glacier the edge it needed to win.

“It was a tremendous team effort,” Connolly said. “Pitchers Mohl and Vanderpool who came out strong against Sentinel hitters.

“Sentinel’s a great team so to come away with that win was a good day for us.”

Connolly also credited the team defense and cutting down on errors.

Glacier is 10-3 overall and 6-2 in conference play.

Glacier next hosts Helena and Helena Capital at 12 and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
