Grandma's having a bad day in Whitefish

Flathead County Sheriff’s Department received a call about a disorderly grandmother who was allegedly having a “temper tantrum” on Texas Avenue in Whitefish. The surly 86-year-old reportedly smacked him on the head “and has thrown things as him.” Locked in his room, he told officers the whole incident started over him asking why she slammed the door. Apparently, this was an “ongoing thing,” according to the caller.

A man was arguing with someone on Whitefish Stage Road in Kalispell who reportedly told the reporting party he would “tear his head off.” Parties were separated.

A passerby spotted a man in a car with a rifle pointed toward a field on Whitefish Stage and was shooting something. The man, who was allegedly shooting gophers, was counseled on shooting from the highway.

A 100-pound potbelly pig was on the loose in someone’s yard on Woodland Road in Columbia Falls and they were trying to keep it contained, but things weren’t working out so well. Apparently, the pig had been spotted in the neighborhood before.

Someone found an unloaded pistol near a parking lot on Montana 35 near Kalispell.

Someone on Montana 35 in Bigfork told deputies a youth had a “hateful statement against [the] black race” on a vehicle window. The person contacted the juvenile, who supposedly came out and erased it. That was not good enough for the person calling in the report who wanted to press charges.

A Haywire Gulch resident in Kalispell told officers a man was flying a drone over his home, claiming it qualified as trespassing.

Someone wanted officers to ask people revving the engine of a four-wheeler and driving up and down Pheasant Drive in Kalispell to stop.

An employee on Flathead Drive in Kalispell thought several trespassing juveniles may have been the culprits in the theft of two ladders at a holding yard.

A man on Willow Glen Drive was being disorderly at a homeowners association meeting held at a fire hall. The man was allegedly being loud, using profanity, slammed his hand on the table and then sat in his vehicle to finish the tantrum before driving away. The scene was reportedly caused over the association making “amendments to the covenant.”

A boyfriend reportedly strangled a woman in Martin City and was refusing to let her have her children.

A man on Electric Avenue in Bigfork really knows how to make a case for himself when yelled profanities at an officer, called him an [expletive] and said “deputies didn’t know how to enforce the law,” after wanting officers to charge a business owner with intimidation over a so-called “verbal assault.” He became agitated when the officer attempted to explain the incident had been investigated and how he could get a no-contact order or temporary restraining order.

A Woodland Drive resident called 911 and hung up. On the call back there was no answer, but eventually contact was made with a woman reporting an intruder in her house and a bald man on a bicycle. She may have said, “if you ever come back here again, you’re a dead man.” The woman’s daughter had a temporary restraining order against the man.

A Hoffman Draw resident in Kila reportedly shot and killed a pit bull that attacked his lambs when it had one pinned to the ground and he believed it was killing it. Another pit bull was seen in the corner of the pasture, but left. He didn’t know who the dogs belonged to. Police issued a citation to the dog owner and the sheep was treated for a bite wound and sent home with antibiotics.

Two rottweilers allegedly started attacking someone in their car. It appears the only scratches they left were on the vehicle’s exterior. The dog’s owner was reminded of the county dog ordinances and given a verbal warning.

Squatters, two tents, lots of debris and garbage were found by a small pond somewhere in the vicinity of a river trail system that goes toward Montana 35.

A Kalispell teen on probation reportedly knocked a 2-year-old over in a hallway and physically struggled with someone who attempted to take his “vape” away.

A man on U.S. 2 in Columbia Falls purportedly hid in a deck of logs after he had been punched in the face and threatened with a knife.

Someone’s son got beat up at “Steven’s house.”

Someone’s husband on Sunrise Terrace in Bigfork was supposedly being “aggressive” and was throwing things and yelling.

A man told officers he accidentally threw away some of his military mementos at the Columbia Falls green boxes and wanted to get there before they picked it up.

Columbia Falls Police Department were flagged down by an man who had the audacity to deem an old man with a stocking cap “weird” because he allegedly “refused to cross at crosswalks when vehicles stop for him,” and wanted officers to tell the man “he needs to cross when appropriate.”

A man on 12th Avenue with big britches wanted to know how to get in touch with “the local guys to make the train move.”

Police followed up with an athletic director about damages to a shed last week and requested a bill to replace a door so it could be sent to youth court where charges were being filed against three juveniles.
