Special Olympics games underway today in Kalispell
Approximately 200 athletes from 12 delegations from the Flathead Valley are competing in the Special Olympics Montana Glacier Area Games at several locations across the Flathead Valley today.
The public is encouraged to come out to support these athletes as they compete in a variety of sports, including track and field, bowling, swimming, bocce, golf, cycling and power-lifting.
A dinner and dance will be held for the athletes following the competition at the Red Lion Hotel Kalispell.

9 a.m. — Opening ceremonies, Legends Field
9:15 to 11:30 a.m. — Track and Field, Legends Field
9:30 to 11:30 a.m. — Golf, Buffalo Hill Golf Course
9:30 to 11:30 a.m. — Cycling, Kalispell Middle School
10 to 11:30 a.m. — Tennis and softball throw, Legends Field
1 to 2:30 p.m. — Bocce, Legends Field
1:30 to 3:30 p.m. — Bowling, Pin ’N Cue
1 to 4 p.m. — Power lifting, Flathead Health and Fitness
1:30 to 3 p.m. — Aquatics, The Wave, Whitefish
5 to 8 p.m. — Dinner and dance, Red Lion Hotel Kalispell
