Kalispell Police apprehend Washington fugitive
A wanted fugitive from Washington state was apprehended by Kalispell Police Monday afternoon near Woodland Park.
Kalispell Police had received a tip from law enforcement in Washington that wanted escapee, Vance Davis, 26, was last seen in the Kalispell area. He was suspected to have violent tendencies and had recently made threats of suicide by cop, according to Kalispell Police.
Surveillance was conducted on a residence in the Woodland Park area where Davis was believed to be located.
Kalispell’s Special Response Team, in partnership with the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, were able to make contact with Davis away from the home during a traffic stop at Second Street East and College Avenue. A distraction device was used and Davis was taken into custody without incident.
A female driver was questioned and released on scene.
Davis is being held at the Flathead County Detention facility on charges of a Fugitive from Justice.
