Political chaos

The American people are the only instrument for choosing our leaders. We all know both parties suffered a loss when an outsider caustically castigated the cadre of elites and won a presidential election.

The people were clearly tired and suspicious of an old regime. The shake and bake of political officials who all looked and sounded alike, from King Bush the Third to Queen Clinton the Second, expected the “deplorables” to vote them back into office. “Just trust me” was the refrain, but our dollar bill states, “In God we trust.”

Presently, a small group in Washington D.C., who apparently has little to do except complain about one leader, has selected an even smaller man to strong-arm the elected choice of America simply to retrieve their lost power. One of them has a family enriched by a billionaire son, who’s capacity as a bill-collector is suspect. Our nation has also suffered for a decade from an enemy who sends the narcotic fentanyl by the boatload to American ports. One last shipment was stopped by the Mexican Coast Guard this August, sent from Shanghai in a sealed container marked calcium-citrate. None of it was headed to hospitals. Apparently, it was being shipped to the Mexican Sinaloa Cartel. Twenty-five tons of it. One can only wonder why the Chinese Communists could be so stupid, unless it was guaranteed safe passage.

Historically, this chaos once happened in England. Oliver Cromwell who led the English Revolution for the Puritans overthrew a corrupt monarchy. It lasted a brief period, but eventually those Puritans would have to flee to the New World. They settled, struggled, and created a new nation dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. It is the very reason we celebrate Thanksgiving. Please, remember that when you pass the gravy.
