Eureka sweeps Deer Lodge in hoops opener

EUREKA — Maggie Graves had seven rebounds and Avory Escobar and Megan Hanson had five steals as Eureka opened its girls basketball season with a 38-29 win over Deer Lodge on Saturday.

Eureka sophomore Jadyn Pluid led scoring with 8 points.

The Flathead Valley Home School Lady Crusaders started their season with a rout of the Helena Christian Lady Rams.

FVHS made 10 of its first 12 shots and led 22-0 after the first quarter.

Codi Kenney went 4 for 5 at the three point line and led the scoring with 18 points.

Corey Connerly scored 15.

The Crusaders next have an away game at Valley Christian in Missoula on Saturday.
