Thief steals special Christmas package
Although a woman on Talbot Road reportedly didn’t want a “full-blown investigation” done, she wanted to provide Columbia Falls Police Department with a description of the likely sentimental contents of a package stolen from her porch in hopes it would be returned. The package reportedly contained a hand-sewn Christmas tree skirt made from vintage fabric sent to her by her aunt in Wisconsin. The woman said she already made social media posts and searched the area thinking someone may have thrown it away.
Someone on Nucleus Avenue was allegedly concerned about homeless people in town, specifically a couple of people they thought were living in their car.
Kalispell’s Nancy Drew wannabe allegedly followed a suspicious vehicle that was reportedly pulling in and out of multiple driveways on Solberg Drive in addition to driving “very slowly.” She reportedly continued to follow the vehicle up Mountain View and Reserve until a passenger got out and asked why she was following them. She called Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report she thought the vehicle was headed to a gas station in Evergreen. Her little escapade supposedly began after she heard about a suspicious vehicle in the area on the police scanner and purportedly couldn’t explain why she just didn’t call deputies in the first place.
Someone calling from Antelope Trail in Whitefish supposedly heard a bunch of people yelling about knocking people’s teeth out at a park on Bear Trail. The person thought it sounded like teenagers who were drinking, “due to the yelling.”
Someone on Evergreen Drive reported their neighbor was supposedly pounding on a shared wall for 20 minutes and claimed the “pounding started a few weeks ago” after they filed a noise complaint with the building manager. Officers made contact with a woman who claimed she was sleeping.
A caller on Concord Lane in Kalispell told deputies that two men in a vehicle approached two teens out walking and one of them allegedly said “if you’re breaking into cars we’re going to get a strap and come shoot you.” The woman drove around the neighborhood and spotted the vehicle on Selders Lane.
A Patton Lane resident called Whitefish Police Department to complain about a man purportedly “making lots of noise” while installing siding with a nail gun. The resident supposedly asked him to stop and was met with threats, but really he just wanted the noise to stop.
Aluminum ramps with the brand name “Motor Hot” were reported stolen from a trailer on Harlequin Court.
A woman waring a blue and yellow stocking cap reportedly hit a bartender on Central Avenue.
A fight supposedly broke out in an alley on Central Avenue, but no one wanted to press charges.
