Kalispell Regional names new chief physician
Kalispell Regional Healthcare on Tuesday announced Ron Martin as the new chief physician of Kalispell Regional Medical Group.
This is a new role in the Kalispell Regional administration. The Kalispell Regional Medical Group is made up of 47 clinics and more than 800 employees, and according to a press release from Kalispell Regional Healthcare, the Group “needed a dedicated position to cover the duties related to it.”
“There are many great things happening at KRH and I’m pleased to be a part of it,” Martin said in the press release. “I’m hoping to use my experience to help guide our physician group as this system continues to grow and evolve.”
Martin will also serve as an executive vice president of Kalispell Regional Healthcare and as a general and hepatobiliary surgeon.
Martin practiced medicine for 11 years in Maine and just over 10 years in Wisconsin, where he served as surgical residency program director at the Marshfield Clinic. He has completed several tours of duty overseas with the U.S. military, and is currently a consulting editor for Surgical Clinics of North America.
Douglas Nelson will continue serving as the group’s chief medical officer, and according to the release he will “focus on broader initiatives” such as “quality, safety and performance improvement.”
