Whitefish, Polson boys net hoops wins

WHITEFISH — The Bulldogs notched their first win of the season in a nonconference basketball game against Eureka at Whitefish High School on Thursday.

Whitefish led 36-14 at the half and held Eureka to just two points in the first quarter.

The Bulldogs are 1-3 overall.

Sam Menicke of Whitefish led all scorers with 14 points. Justin Conklin scored 11.

For Eureka, Austin Sartori scored seven and AJ Pacella scored six.

POLSON — Leading 36-28 at the half, the Polson Pirates pulled away in the second half to beat Corvallis in a Class A game.

Ryker Wenderoff led Polson with 10 points and Corvallis’ Tanner Jessop led all scorers with 13 points.

Polson is 2-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
