GREAT FALLS — Teegan Vasquez placed second at the C.M. Russell Holiday Wrestling Classic, held Friday and Saturday at CMR Field House.

Vasquez (113) lost by decision to Carter Schmidt of Belgrade in the final after winning by decision over Krayle Stormer of Circle in the semifinal.

Josh Melton (103) lost an overtime decision to Hunter Rahn of Helena Capital in the semis, good enough for a fourth place finish.

Camryn Vergeront (285) placed eighth.

Glacier tied for 11th place out of 55 teams with CMR.

“Really proud of our two freshmen Josh Melton getting fourth and Teegan Vasquez getting second today, to be on the big stage in a 55 team tournament can be a lot, but they handled it great and put together great performances,” Glacier coach Ross Dankers said. “Camryn Vergeront at heavyweight fought through some injuries and battling for a place winning finish is a testimony to his grit.”

Columbia Falls’ Josh Bertram (170) was eighth and Justin Windauer (113) placed seventh.
