Michael W. Dofelmire, 70

Michael W. Dofelmire “Papa Mike,” 70, passed away Wednesday, Dec.18, 2019 at Kalispell Regional Hospital surrounded by his family.

Born Sept. 27, 1949 in Kalispell Montana, he was the son of George and Helen Dofelmire.

Mike graduated from Flathead High School and then served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He later worked for the city of Kalispell for nearly 30 years.

In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family, specifically his brother George, brother-in-law Cal, and cousin John. Mike cared about the things that truly mattered to him. He would make every game, concert or event that pertained to his grandkids. Mike was a devoted father, grandpa, brother and uncle. “We will carry your memory in our hearts and continue your legacy.”

Mike was preceded in death by his father George, mother Helen and brother Gary. He is survived by his daughter Angela (Dofelmire) Coates and her two children Hannah and Leah Loble of Missoula; his son Colby Shaw, his wife Kelly and their son Cameron of Kalispell; his sister Roxanne Reynolds, sister Rhonda Wester and her husband Cal; his brother George Dofelmire and his wife Suzi; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

Services will be held at a later date.
