No sign of parking violation or pooch

Someone reported a neighbor’s vehicle improperly parked and a dog not secured properly, according to the Columbia Falls Police Department The caller sent photos of the dark-colored Subaru parked against traffic as well as slanted and sometimes appearing to stick out into the street. An officer checked several times, but didn’t find the offending car or pooch. But the officer intends to keep an eye out.

The presence of two 12-year-old girls trying to sell rings for a school fundraiser was a cause for concern with a caller. The person said the girls didn’t seem to know what they were selling.

A man on federal probation was stopped by officers and given a warning for his driving.

Someone reported a transient sleeping in a dugout at the ballfield. He did move along.

A caller reported some men and boys yanking on their dogs’ shock collars, which made them yelp. The caller voiced her displeasure with the situation, which led to one of the boys pointing an unknown gun at her. When he pulled the trigger, it turned out to be a cap gun.

A woman said an employee had stolen money from her mother’s checking account. The alleged perpetrator had an unconfirmed warrant from highway patrol and one from Kalispell.

Someone said the snowblower he reported stolen was on a social media post. It had been found and turned into the police department. He said it had been stolen so quickly after he bought it, he didn’t have time to record the serial number.

A man driving a white pickup truck with a topper slammed on the brakes so he wouldn’t run the light. When he did, some boards slid off the top of the vehicle and on to the road. When the other driver left, the man was still trying to get them picked up.

Someone reported a woman walking on the North Fork Road who was limping and holding her side. When the caller stopped to provide assistance, she told him to “mind your own business.”

A security officer reported there would two armed guards at a holiday celebration, perhaps to ensure Christmas good cheer?
