Two suspected drug traffickers are behind bars after the Northwest Montana Drug Task Force arrested them Thursday at a local hotel.

According to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, Adan Bedal-Barajas and Santiago Marrano were arrested by members of the Drug Task Force and Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Brian Heino said in a press release that the Drug Task Force has been investigating a organization from California.

On Christmas Day, task force agents learned that people involved with the group were traveling to Kalispell. The next day, agents served several search warrants after speaking with the men and found about 5 pounds of methamphetamine, more than a pound of marijuana and a gun.

Some of the items were packaged in stuffed animals.

Bedal-Barajas and Marrano are both being held in the Flathead County Jail without bond on pending drug charges.
