FVCC Theatre presents 'Noises Off'

| February 7, 2019 4:00 AM

Flathead Valley Community College Theatre Department’s production of Michael Frayn’s “Noises Off” will warm the chilliest of winter nights and have audiences in stitches when it opens Thursday, Feb. 14, in the campus theater of the Arts and Technology Building.

It’s after midnight and the touring company for a new play, “Nothing On,” struggles through a final dress rehearsal, unprepared for an opening night that is only hours away. Actors forget lines and where to put their props, stage managers battle mounting disasters, and the director is driven to hair-pulling exasperation.

Frayn has captured the flavor of theater production with a skill that comes from being involved in the trade and understanding that every theatrical production skirts the edge of disaster.

“Noises Off” will run Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 14, 15, 16, and Feb. 21, 22 and 23, with performances at 7 p.m. Tickets for the play are $10 for general admission, $7 for seniors and $5 for students and can be purchased online at www.fvcc.edu/theatre, in the FVCC Bookstore or at the box office any night of the show.

This play is recommended for mature audiences only due to strong language and sexual innuendo.
