Chaney's double-double lifts Eureka over Florence

EUREKA — Cory Chaney scored 15 points and pulled down 16 rebounds to guide Eureka to a 47-37 Western B boys basketball victory Thursday evening over Florence.

Back-to-back layups on Florence’s first two possessions gave the Falcons their only leads of the game, 2-0, 4-0. Eureka answered with a 3 by AJ Pacella and a mid-range jumper by Jake Kindel to put the Lions on top for good.

Kindel finished with 10 points and totaled eight rebounds. Alex Lowe had eight points to go with eight rebounds for Eureka.

Up next for Eureka is the Western B divisional next week in Ronan. The Lions play Deer Lodge, the second seed from District 6B, on Thursday.
