Clarence 'Mike' Calvin Chamberlain, 80

Clarence “Mike” Calvin Chamberlain, 80, passed away on Feb. 12, 2019, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Mike was born on Nov. 18, 1938, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, to John and Alma Chamberlain. He was raised in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Hollidaysburg High School.

After high school he entered the United States Air Force. He completed 21 years with the Air Force, retiring with the rank of master sergeant. While in the Air Force he married Judith Ann Lingenfelter on Nov. 26, 1960, and they were together for 58 years. While in the Air Force Mike served throughout the Pacific from Alaska to Australia.

Mike and Judy moved 17 times and spent three years in Australia and five years in Montclair, California, where he served as an advisor to the California Air National Guard.

After retiring from the Air Force, Mike was called to work in a new Public Service Unit established by the National Weather Service at Bismarck, North Dakota. Mike completed over 20 years of service with the National Weather Service and retired Aug. 1, 2001. While in the National Weather Service, Mike was stationed at Bismarck, Havre, Kalispell and Great Falls.

Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being a longtime member of the Kalispell Lions.

His parents, John and Alma Chamberlain, his brothers John Jr. and Thomas, and his sisters Linda, Ann and Connie preceded Mike in death.

He is survived by his wife Judy, of Kalispell; children, James and partner Becky Anthony of Fernley, Nevada, son Michael and wife Lori of Bismarck; four sisters and two brothers, all living in Pennsylvania; four grandsons, Christopher and Jon of Bismarck, and Cameron and James of Fernley; along with numerous nieces and nephews living throughout the United States.

The family requests that memorial donations be made in Mike’s name to the Kalispell Lions Club, P.O. Box 321, Kalispell Montana 59903-0321.

A private ceremony will be held for family members at a later date.
