Crusaders to play for MCAA state title

BOZEMAN — The Flathead Valley Homeschool Crusaders outscored Foothills Community Christian School 23-7 in the second half to pull away for a 39-28 semifinal victory at the Montana Christian Athletic Association state girls basketball tournament on Friday.

Flathead Valley trailed 21-16 at the half, but opened the third quarter with a 10-0 run.

Elizabeth Buckner paced FVHS with 15 points. Corey Connerly chipped in 14.

Kenzie Huston topped Foothills with 16.

Flathead Valley (15-4) advances to today’s title game at 2:30 p.m. versus the defending state champions — Heritage Christian School, who beat Stillwater Christian School in the other Friday semifinal.

Stillwater plays a loser-out game today at 8:30 a.m.

Stillwater Christian 71, Billings Christian 23

BOZEMAN — Selah Neumann had 19 points and 16 rebounds to lead Stillwater Christian School past Billings Christian School in first-round play on Thursday.

Madison Morken netted 12 points for the Cougars and Abigail Hudson added 10.

The win advanced Stillwater to semifinal play on Friday versus Heritage Christian School.
