Janice Faith Prier, 59

Janice Faith Prier passed away on Feb. 18, 2019, at her home in Columbia Falls after she lost her battle with cancer.

She was born in Whitefish on April 25, 1959, to Floyd and Cecelia Barnhart.

Jan attended Columbia Falls schools and worked at several valley businesses over the years.

She committed her life to Christ in 1977 and served Him faithfully.

Jan married Dave Prier on Nov. 25, 1983. She was a stay-at-home mom to her two children whom she home-schooled. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She was a great cook and canned the produce from the huge gardens they grew. She also volunteered at the Senior Center in Columbia Falls and counted it a privilege to help others in need. She had a servant’s heart, was always cheerful and never judgmental.

She enjoyed Bible studies, scrapbooking, playing cards with her sisters and cherished the friendships created during home-schooling days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Linda Reynolds and Diane Barnhart.

She is survived by her husband Dave, her son, Logan and daughter Jade (Chris) Wittkamp; sisters, Cherie (Al) Gardner, Kathy Yang, Sandy (Roger) Erickson, Mary (Don) Reynolds, Frances (Jerry) Thomas, and Patty Arlt; brother, John (Karen) Barnhart; brother-in-law, Bruce (Betty) Reynolds; father and mother-in-law, Gilbert and Erma Prier; sister-in-law, Susan Prier; brother-in-law, Bob Prier; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and many special friends.

Jan was an active member of the Rock Church in Kalispell.

Columbia Mortuary is caring for the family. Cremation has taken place.

An open house is set for 1 to 4 p.m. March 2 at the Rock Church located at 690 Grandview Drive in Kalispell. Please join us for coffee, cookies and sharing memories of our beloved Jan.
