No neighborly accord over extension cord
Someone called the Kalispell Police Department to report their neighbor for running an extension cord from their home across a sidewalk to their car. The caller wanted to know whether the action was legal, even though the neighbor had already picked up the cord when they called. An officer told the caller there was nothing illegal about it. The caller, unsatisfied with that answer, was referred to the city attorney’s office.
A man believed to be intoxicated attempted to climb the fences at a kids’ sports field before stumbling and lying down next to the fence.
Police received a report from a worried woman who said officers had talked to a “sketchy man” a while back and he stopped coming around, but he was reportedly back — and still sketchy. She said he was hanging around when she got home from work.
A theft complaint was canceled after management of a storage facility discovered they had cleaned out the wrong storage unit and still had all of a man’s belongings.
Someone attempting to repossess a truck was accosted by an agitated man who “body-checked” them. Eventually, the vehicle was obtained without further incident and they didn’t want to pursue charges.
Someone with a male shoplifter told police the youth “has attitude and needs to be straightened out.”
A vehicle may have been abandoned when someone reported a tan minivan parked in the back of a store on East Idaho Street for about a week and that nobody around knew who it belonged to.
Someone’s sister’s boyfriend was seen driving a pickup recklessly through the area, slowing down in the vicinity of their house and then using the vehicle to throw up rocks toward it.
Someone spoke to Columbia Falls Police Department about a concern that a man was allegedly on heroin while watching a 4-month-old.
A person on Talbot Road requested extra patrol because it appeared someone was sleeping under a carport after they found a sleeping bag, soda bottles and food containers. The person said the items could stay there for now if the owner wanted to pick them up.
Apparently it’s not “all about that bass,” when a resident complained about loud music coming from a Nucleus Avenue business. Police talked with a manager, who turned down the bass.
According to a Whitefish Police report, a restaurant owner and employee got into an argument when the employee allegedly tried to change his clothes in the kitchen after the owner reportedly told him many times not to. The owner then attempted to escort the employee out of the kitchen to finish dressing, for health reasons. The employee said he was washing dishes when the owner came in and started yelling at him. Neither party wished to press charges. The employee quit.
