Man rescued after snow bike accident in Swan Valley

According to a call received by Flathead County 911, a 44-year-old man snow biking on the Bond Creek Trail, east of Swan Lake, fell off a cliff Saturday afternoon and may have suffered a broken leg. The Bigfork Fire Department was called to rendezvous with Two Bear Air at Swan Valley SAR building to take him to the hospital.

Someone called the Kalispell Police Department to report a possible case of child abuse. She said she had made several reports to child protective services and they hadn’t done anything. The caller said the child in her class was 5 years old and had slight bruising. An officer spoke with the caller and was going to look into it.

A caller’s tip may lead to drug arrest. The person said she saw what she believed to be a drug deal occurring in an alley. The vehicle was towed to a secure place for a search after a warrant was secured.

A woman reported locking her 3-year-old child inside a van while she stopped at an ATM to get some money. The vehicle was opened and the child was OK.

An accidental 911 call originated from a child inside a phone store at the mall. Everyone was fine.

Two good Samaritans helped an older woman in distress near a dentist’s office. One person administered CPR and another helped before she was rushed to the hospital.

A citizen detective believed she saw someone steal mail. The man was described as a white and slender, about 6 feet tall and wearing black or navy blue long-sleeved shirt and pants. She also took a photo of him with her phone. When an officer talked to the man, he said he had left money for a person who had done work for him. The officer was going to double check to see if the person received the money.

A woman called to report she had done a lot of heroin and was overdosing. She also said she had a gun. She wanted a ride to the hospital so she could meet th FBI. She was taken to the hospital, courtesy of rescue workers at the fire department. A gun was not found at the residence.

A caller said her friend’s roommate was going to come over and kill everyone. She was concerned because she had small kids at home and his threats were very vile.

An investigation into several barking dogs turned up only silence.

Someone said her husband had taken a lot of allergy medicine and locked himself inside the bathroom. He then walked out and dropped the pill bottle in the bathroom. He then went outside and began yelling about the “(expletive) pigs.” The man received a ride to the hospital.

More CPR heroics helped a 22-year-old man that had a lot to drink. A caller said he did CPR after the man wasn’t breathing normally. He did open his eyes and wake up.

A native man in his 40s with neck tattoos and wrapped in a blanket was reported to be standing on the bridge and leaning backward over the railing. He did walk off, but a police check confirmed KPD had a warrant for him.

Someone said his work partner had overdosed at a job site. The 49-year-old man was laying on the ground, wasn’t conscious, but was breathing. He has a history of overdosing on opioids. The man did sit up in the next few minutes and was OK.

An older man was taken to the hospital and plans were made to move his trailer from private property where he had been living for the last two weeks.

A woman who said she ordered some items from a website said she received what appeared to be bundles of cash with Chinese writing on the bills. She didn’t bring the money with her to the department, but she said she was concerned that she would get mugged when people found out she had the money.

The beat goes on. An attempt to call out and a life alert bump resulted in two accidental 911 calls.

The chickens just keep returning to the caller’s yard.
