Dancer doesn't get the point of no-parking zones

Kalispell Police Department responded to a report of at least two vehicles reportedly parked near a dance studio in an alleyway in a “no-parking zone,” potentially blocking emergency vehicles. When a man allegedly asked one of the drivers how long she would be parked there — the entitled woman said “she may dance for an hour, or she may dance all day.” Police pointed out to the drivers they could not block the alley for emergency vehicles.

Police responded to a burglary alarm where two people reportedly broke into a business leaving broken glass, footprints and “burglary tools,” behind.

A woman was heard screaming at a man and throwing things for about half an hour in their residence. When the yelling stopped, the crying began. Both parties agreed to go to other rooms for the night.

Someone reported a possible scam when a foreign-sounding man called them claiming to be from a local garden center. The person said the call ended up “being vulgar.”

Someone who had no front bumper on their vehicle wanted to know if that was against the law to drive it.

A vehicle ran out of fuel in the middle of a road.

Someone was suspicious of a man dressed in black with a green backpack who looked like he was stealing a bicycle from a neighbor’s driveway.

A transient was found sleeping in a business’ outdoor “smoke shack” and an employee wanted him moved along.

A man reported several packages stolen off his porch, but didn’t have any serial or tracking numbers to provide.

Columbia Falls Police Department received a report of a gas spill on Ninth Street when someone drove off with the hose still attached to their vehicle. About a gallon and half sprayed onto the lot by the time the system was shut off. The person returned with the gas hose and paid for the fuel.

A stolen vehicle, with a possible flat tire, parked by an apartment building on U.S. 2, was located by police.

A 12-year-old home alone on Bauman Lane in Coram was scared enough to call Flathead County Sheriff’s Department when he saw two people dressed in dark-colored clothing lurking outside and walking around a neighbor’s property. The boy then saw them leave in a van.

Mail was reported stolen on West Valley Drive and the person calling it in noticed tire tracks that went into a ditch, possibly from a four-wheeler.

Siri, a smartphone personal assistant, misunderstood someone asking for the phone number to the hospital emergency room and dialed 911 instead — calling into question just how smart Siri really is.

Someone on U.S. 93 in Whitefish told deputies that a former employee told them in an email that she had stolen confidential employee information.

Someone on Phanco Lane in Kalispell was concerned about going home when a man, who was reportedly swerving all over the road, followed and tailgated them in a truck that did not have headlights on, and, instead, was using spotlights. Eventually, the man stopped following and the person felt comfortable to continue driving home.

A Kalispell woman reported her 19-year-old son had a “freak out” and punched a hole in the wall because their daughter was vacuuming.
