Cars in the ditch, but no one's there

A person reported to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that he had just left Badger Hollow in Lost Prairie and there was a vehicle in the creek and one on the ditch. There weren’t any people around and both vehicles had snow on them. The caller said he wasn’t comfortable stopping because of the drug and transient activity in the area.

Someone reported that a person had tried to break a window into the office, but had failed.

A person said someone rented a car using a fake name and another person’s credit card. The car wasn’t damaged, though.

Someone called the Kalisell Police Department about a man with facial hair who allegedly stole two laptop computers. He was wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and dark brown work boots. He was driving a white Pontiac Grand Prix and there may have been a passenger with him.

A woman wanted to report an ongoing issue with a neighbor who was harassing and stalking her.

Someone said a hound dog had been sounding off for several hours and it occurred five or six times a week. An officer didn’t hear anything when he was on scene.

A man said his father had been heavily drinking and wouldn’t let him get his stuff. When an officer intervened, he did end up getting his property returned.

Someone sitting in his truck bumped his phone and it dialed 911.

A person complained that high school kids were parking in spots reserved for tenants. The vehicles were eventually moved.

A person came to the Columbia Falls Police Department and reported seeing a white truck with Montana plates cut off several vehicles and swerve on the stretch between the Blue Moon and Hilltop Road. The caller said the truck continued east on U.S. 2 after he turned off. An officer said since it hadn’t been reported for an hour, they would keep an eye out for the truck.

Someone from the junior high school said kids had left at 10:32 a.m., which is a little earlier than normal. Parents of the kids said they’d call when they showed up.

A person who reported an assault the previous night called back the next day and wanted to press charges.

Someone reported a vehicle that pulled up to a building and threw some kind of bag out the window. A check determined it was someone delivering the newspaper.

A woman said she lost her wedding ring when she took it off to work on a sculpture. She didn’t report it missing, but found it at a pawn shop.
