Kalispell woman accused of torching her trailer

Law enforcement officials said a woman who allegedly didn’t want to move her trailer after she had been evicted from the property, set it on fire and now faces an arson charge.

Amyjean Caroline Noland, 41, of Kalispell, is facing one felony charge of arson after an incident last summer.

According to a criminal complaint, several fire companies responded to a structure fire on Ridgewood Drive Aug. 5, 2018. The trailer was engulfed in flames and firefighters had to enter the building to make sure there was no one inside, endangering them in the process. Firefighters put the blaze out, but the trailer was a complete loss.

The owner of the structure, Noland, was not present during the fire and when she was told about it, she didn’t respond to the scene, according to the complaint. Upon further investigation, it was learned Nolan had recently been evicted from the property and had to move the trailer.

According to the complaint, Nolan allegedly admitted to burning the trailer so she wouldn’t have to move it.

Noland is facing a maximum term of 20 years in the Montana State Prison.
