Jim was born in Santa Monica in 1947.

He graduated from Grant Adult High School, enlisted in the Navy in 1965 and went on to study computer programming at MTI graduating in 1970. He worked for PG&E in Sacramento, California, for 12 years prior to moving to Montana in 1990. After spending a short time in Hungry Horse he moved to Kalispell and worked for Evergreen Waste and disposal until he retired.

After retirement, Jim became a staunch supporter and volunteer of Northwest Montana Veteran’s Food Pantry becoming one of the founding board members in 2002. Jim loved working with the veterans and helped with many Stand Downs in the region.

Jim was a stubborn man, as any of his ex-wives could tell you, but he had a big heart and was very generous when it came to helping others. He liked woodworking, making birdhouses and whirligigs.

We will be celebrating his life in the spring and will announce the date at a later time.

In lieu of flowers please make donations in Jim’s name to Northwest Montana Veteran’s Food Pantry as they embark on their new endeavor of their veteran’s camp in the Swan.

Darlington Cremation and Burial Service is caring for Jim and his family.
