Libby/Troy, Whitefish tie in wrestling dual
LIBBY — Libby/Troy and Whitefish battled to at 33-all tie in a Northwest A wrestling dual on Tuesday with forfeits and pins accounting for the bulk of the scoring for both teams.
There were six forfeits (103, 113, 126, 170, 182 and 285), including one double forfeit.
Libby had four pins — Buddy Doolin (120), Zack Morrison (132), Trey Thompson (145) and Daniel Rigney (205) — to one for Whitefish — Robert Bertelsen (160).
Winning by decisions were Whitefish’s Dakota Flannery (138) and Libby’s Hunter Hoover (152).
Libby and Whitefish will participate in the Class A Duals in Belgrade on Friday and Saturday.

BIGFORK — Eureka, Columbia Falls JV, Florence-Carlton and Mission/Charlo joined Bigfork for a non-scoring event.
Bigfork had five wrestlers competing, four won at least one match.
“We had a really good performance tonight,” Bigfork coach Shawn Hall said.
Shelton Woll (145), a sophomore, “had one of his best performances of the season,” according to Hall.
Woll wrestled three times, winning twice.
Hall said sophomore Eli Tidwell (138) “had a good performance” in his come-from-behind victory over a wrestler from Florence-Carlton. Tidwell was trailing 7-2, but recorded a takedown in the last 20 seconds and won by pin with two seconds remaining.
Sophomore Arche Brevick (152) went 1-1 while freshman Colton Wroble (170) posted a 1-2 mark on the night. Both won by pin.
Wroble now has four wins on the season.
This was Bigfork’s only home match of the season.
“Our intentions are to change that (in the future),” Hall said.
“Have multiple home meets, even host a tournament next year.”
Bigfork does not have a junior or senior on the roster this season.
“We’re looking to increase our numbers,” Hall said.
“We have a very good feeder program right now with 65 kids.”
