The Whitefish Kiddie Carnival will run from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, during the Whitefish Winter Carnival at the Whitefish Middle School gym.
Enjoy fun activities, with prizes, for both children and adults.
The annual event is run by the Whitefish High School Leo Club, a division of the Lions Club.

Speaker series focuses on Glacier Park
Glacier National Park Volunteer Associates is sponsoring its annual Winter Speaker Series, a tradition that has been offered for decades in the Flathead Valley.
Each fourth Monday of January, February and March a guest speaker presents subjects of interest related to Glacier National Park. The talks are free and open to the general public. All programs begin at 7 p.m. and are followed by a raffle.
The January and February programs will take place at the Museum at Central School. The March program will be held in the large community room of the Arts and Technology building at Flathead Valley Community College.
Jan. 28 — Brian Sommers, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks criminal investigator, has been a Montana game warden for 30 years. His presentation will be on “Stories from the Wildlife Human Attack Response Team” (WHART).
Feb. 25 — Teagan Tomlin, an interpretative ranger at Glacier Park, will present “If Rocks Could Talk.” Tomlin will guide listeners through the impressive story of the park’s geologic history as she describes four major phases that helped shape the park’s breathtaking scenery. She also helps listeners interpret the physical appearance of rocks found in the park to interpret how Montana has changed over the past 1.5 billion years.
March 25 — Adam Osborne, Dick Anderson Construction’s field manager, along with other supporting project members will speak on the rebuilding of Glacier Park’s Sperry Chalet. The presentation will include pictures taken by Amy Boring during Phase I of the reconstruction.

Chocolate Affair in downtown Kalispell
The Kalispell Downtown Association invites everyone to attend its annual Chocolate Affair from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1.
Many downtown businesses will be serving chocolate treats. To be eligible for door prizes you must visit a minimum of 10 locations
Participants must be at least 18 to win a door prize, with one entry per person. Drop off completed cards at any of the locations on the walking card.
Girl Scout cookie sales begin
Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming kick off their 2019 Cookie Program on Feb. 1.
Girl Scouts will begin taking pre-orders Feb. 1 to Feb. 17 for eight varieties of cookies, including a gluten-free variety. Delivery will take place in mid-March.
Cookies can also be ordered online through April 14 at www.girlscouts.org
Girl Scout Cookies in Montana and Wyoming will sell for $4 per box with the exception of the S’mores and gluten-free Toffee-tastics, which sell for $5 per box.
During the cookie season, all ages of Girl Scouts sell cookies, helping them build entrepreneurial, business, leadership and people skills.

Cheerleading camp is Saturday, Feb. 2
Glacier High School cheerleading camp takes place Saturday, Feb. 2. Participants will learn cheers, chants, jumps and basic stunts from the Glacier High cheerleaders and will perform at halftime of a GHS varsity basketball game.
