No. 26333 NOTICE OF RURAL FIRE DISTRICT BOND ELECTION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Board of Trustees (the "Board") of the Somers Rural Fire District, Montana (the "District"), that pursuant to a resolution duly adopted at a meeting of the Board on April 24, 2019, a special election of the registered voters of the District will be held by mail ballot election on July 30, 2019 for the purpose of voting on the question of whether the Board may sell and issue general obligation bonds in a principal amount not to exceed Four Million and No/100 Dollars ($4,000,000), bearing interest at rates to be determined at the time of the sale, payable semiannually, during a term of not more than twenty (20) years, for the purpose of paying the costs of designing, constructing, equipping, and furnishing on land owned by the District located at 784 Somers Road a new Somers Fire Hall, consisting of a truck bay, storage area, community room and office area, with an upper level for a training room and living quarters to be finished if sufficient bond proceeds are available or roughed-in for finishing when funds become available; associated site development, including soil mitigation, utilities, driveway and parking areas, and landscaping; related improvements and costs; and paying costs associated with the sale and issuance of the bonds. The election will be conducted solely by mail ballot. Ballots will be mailed to all eligible registered voters in the District on July 12, 2019, and must be returned by each voter, by mail to the Flathead County Election Administrator, 40 11th Street West, Suite 230, Kalispell, MT, 59901, or in person, during regular business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), to the Flathead County Election Administrator, 40 11th Street West, Suite 230, in Kalispell, Montana, weekdays, July 15, 2019 through July 29, 2019, exclusive of weekends and holidays. On Election Day, July 30, 2019, the only place for deposit of voted ballots will be the office of the Flathead County Election Administrator, 40 11th Street West, Suite 230, in Kalispell, Montana, which will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and all ballots must be in the office of the Flathead County Election Administrator by 8:00 p.m. in order to be counted. An elector may obtain a replacement ballot if his ballot is destroyed, spoiled, lost, or not received by the elector by personally appearing at the office of the Flathead County Election Administrator and by: (a) signing an affidavit form stating the reason for the request for replacement; and (b) if the reason given for replacement is "spoiled ballot," by returning the spoiled ballot to the office of the Flathead County Election Administrator. Ballots may be returned in person at the place of deposit listed above, or returned by mail. If returning by mail, please use the then-prevailing first-class-postage price or one Forever Stamp. Postmark date does not apply; ballots returned by mail must be received by the 8:00 p.m. Election Day deadline to be counted.
