Ruth Marie Soderstrom, 82

Ruth Marie Soderstrom passed away peacefully on June 23, 2019, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Ruth, also lovingly known as Ruthie, was born on Nov. 28, 1936, at Kalispell Regional Hospital. She was the first child to Alice and Clarence “Cacky” Soderstrom, later joined by younger brother, Keith Soderstrom. The family remained in Kalispell, with Ruth being part of the Flathead High Braves flag spinning team as a young girl.

She met and married Jerry M. Syth and they went on to start a family of their own. They built a house on Willow Glen, not far from her own parents and started their family. Ruth was a homemaker, often hosting parties for her family and later taking her grandkids overnight or weekends just for fun.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Alice Soderstrom, and son John Syth.

She is survived by her children, Kim Buchholtz, Richard Syth, Sherry Lynn and Randy Dennison; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter. Ruth is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on July 13 at the Kalispell Church of the Nazarene, 1295 Whitefish Stage in Kalispell.
