Sapa-Johnsrud Tournament Late rally lifts Lakers AA over Twins A, 6-3

WHITEFISH — A pair of two-run innings in the late going allowed the Kalispell Lakers AA to rally for a 6-3 victory over the Glacier Twins A on Saturday at the 35th annual Sapa-Johnsrud Memorial Tournament at Memorial Field.

Glacier scored three times in the bottom of the fourth to take a 3-2 lead in the American Legion baseball contest.

Kalispell scored twice in the fifth and sixth to pull it out.

The loss dropped Glacier to 2-1 after three days of tournament play (26-15 overall).

Kalispell is also 2-1 in tournament action (29-16).

Logan Siblerud pitched the final two innings to earn the win for the Lakers. Wes Palmer went the first four, allowing three hits, three runs, all earned, striking out one and walking two batters.

Coby Clark-Dickinson took the loss for the Twins, who were riding a four-game winning streak. He went five innings, allowing thee hits, four runs, all earned, struck out five and walked three.

Kalispell’s Eric Seaman, 1 for 2, had the only extra base hit of the game with a double and drove in two runs. The Lakers had five hits by five different players.

Glacier had four hits, led by Stevyn Andrachick, who was 2 for 3.

The four-day tournament ends today with the third/fourth place game at 9 a.m. followed by the championship game at 11:30.

The Lakers are defending tournament champions.

WHITEFISH — Ryan Symmes, 3 for 3, doubled and Payton Davison, 1 for 3, homered for Kalispell in a five-run win over Spokane Cannons.

Jonathan Craver, 2 for 3, was the other top hitter for the Lakers.

Kalispell had four two-run innings — first, second, fourth and fifth.

Jack Corriveau went the distance for the Lakers on the hill. He allowed six hits, fanned five hitters and walked one. The win pushed the Lakers tournament mark to 3-1 (30-14).

WHITEFISH — Jack Schwaiger, 2 for 3, drove in Nathan Hader from third with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 2-all tie and give the Twins A the victory over the Elks AA.

It was the first tournament loss for Lethbridge.

Lethbridge had runners on first and second with two outs in the top of the seventh, but failed to score.

Glacier’s Forrest Kobelt went 6 2/3 innings to earn the win. He had eight strike outs, walked five and allowed four hits.
