Bigfork Summer Playhouse stages “Seussical the Musical” for its 60th season.

An audience favorite is returning to Bigfork Summer Playhouse. For its 60th anniversary, the Playhouse is presenting one of the greatest musicals of all time, “Oklahoma!” Beloved by audiences worldwide for its grandeur, dancing, humor and heart, the show celebrates the pioneer spirit that forged the American West. It’s a show that will celebrate the spirit of both the Playhouse and its home in Montana.

“This is where it all started!” said Director Matt Wolfe, a Bigfork and Broadway alum. “This show sets the template for everything that was to come. The beauty of the show is that this story about pioneers also pioneered a new way to do musicals. Before, musicals were more like variety shows. This one brought the story and heart to Broadway, and this amazing cast of young professionals is giving this classic all of the passion and joy it deserves!”

“Seussical the Musical,” based on the children’s stories of Dr. Seuss, brings some of the best-loved characters together in an unforgettable, fanstastical, magical, musical extravaganza. See The Cat in the Hat, Horton, The Whos, Jojo, Mayzie La Bird, Gertrude and others come together to tell a story about the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community. Seussical is fun for the whole family and features memorable music and an uplifting, funny story. The cast will have you tapping your toes and wanting to sing along as they bring these characters to life on stage.
