Colorful characters warned not to drive

A scruffy-looking man knocked down a blonde woman, but she turned the tables on him when she chased him down in her purple PT cruiser. When a Kalispell Police Department officer spoke to both of them later, they were told not to drive because neither had a valid driver’s license.

Someone reported selling her vehicle to two people, but was concerned because they didn’t return and she hadn’t taken her license plates off the vehicle. She was told to call the DMV and make the plates inactive.

A woman called to say she needed to get her stuff from her ex, but she didn’t know where he lived and he didn’t have a working phone.

A man, possibly suffering from a midlife crisis, was told to leave an area watering hole after he yelled at everyone.

According to a 10-year-old child, a slightly older youth allegedly pulled a knife on him. He also said the older boy had chased him all the way to the park, but the assailant left before things became more serious.

A California father called to request a welfare check on his kids because he said his ex-wife went to Las Vegas, leaving the children at home. When an officer arrived at the home, he spoke with the kids and babysitter and everyone was fine.

A dog walker found a leaf blower in the gutter and said she’d stay nearby so it wouldn’t be stolen. She ended up taking it home before someone stopped to retrieve the item.

Someone reported that two teen-aged men were riding their ATVs and dirt bikes and tearing up people’s yards. She said she could smell the exhaust, but no vehicles were found.

A caller said there were red and yellow lights flashing in her corner window and was concerned it might be some kind of alarm. It was soon determined it was a reflection of construction trucks in the area.

A clerk found a bag of methamphetamine at his register and made the correct choice when he called to have law enforcement pick it up.

Another caller also took the high road after founding a bag containing what was believed to be heroin. An officer collected it and entered it into evidence for destruction.
