Paula Jo Dickinson, 58

| June 8, 2019 7:47 PM

Paula Jo Dickinson passed away May 29, 2019, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Paula was born in Billings to Bill and Eleanor Dickinson. She attended schools in Billings, Kalispell, and graduated from Thompson Falls High School.

Paula was passionate about fishing and hunting. Her love of the outdoors was only shadowed by her pride in her daughter Becky, and she would brag about her “Rocket Scientist” to any willing ear. She encouraged Becky’s love of solving puzzles and helped her build her first telescope.

The other joy in her life was the time she spent working with the “Hooked on Fishing” program, where she taught kids about fishing, conservation and bait.

Often there was a “demo” where she may or may not have put a worm or maggot in her mouth to make the kids squeal. Paula also started one of the first bait businesses in the valley.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Dickinson.

Paula is survived by parents Bill and Eleanor Dickinson of Kalispell, daughter Rebecca Griffith of Livermore, California, sister Jennifer, brother David, niece Karlee and husband Bryce Hagler, nephew Jeremiah Dickinson, grandnieces Emily Dickinson and Aria Hagler, and grandnephew, Ayden Hagler, and sister-in-law Mary Dickinson.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
