Reuben R. Braaten, 73

Reuben R. Braaten, 73, passed away at The Springs in Whitefish on Wednesday, May 30, 2019, after a long battle with cancer.

Reuben was born on Dec. 14, 1945, in Wolf Point to Irene and Howard Braaten. In 1956, he moved with his family to Kalispell where they started a small family farm. He graduated from Flathead High School in 1964. Shortly afterward, he enlisted into the Army and served in Vietnam until 1969.

Reuben had a passion for hunting, fishing and the outdoors.

Reuben is survived by his mother, his son, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, and four sisters.

At his request, a celebration of life will be held in his honor at 11 a.m. on June 15 at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home in Kalispell.
