A 12-run second inning helped the Kalispell Lakers A fly by the Cranbrook Bandits A 21-8 in the first game of an American Legion baseball doubleheader on Wednesday evening at Griffin Field.

Ben Corriveau, 3 for 4, Thomas O’Connell, 3 for 4, and Gage Brink, 3 for 3, powered the Laker attack along with Hank Nuce, who had one hit and four RBIs.

Corriveau and O’Connell both drove in three runs.

O’Connell doubled and tripled.

The Lakers A followed with a 9-3 victory over the Bandits A in the second game.

Nuce, 2 for 3, drove in three runs and Mckade Schara, 2 for 4, had two RBIs.

Nuce had a double and O’Connell accounted for the team’s the other extra base with a triple.

Kalispell had two big innings, a three-run first and a four-run sixth.

The Lakers A continued with league play, hosting the Libby Loggers A for a doubleheader on Monday starting at 5 p.m.
