It’s another super soccer weekend at Kidsports Complex with the State Showcase Tournament on Saturday and Sunday for U10, U11 and U12 boys and girls teams.

This is the final weekend of the spring season for Montana Youth Soccer.

Play starts Saturday at 8 a.m. and resumes the same time on Sunday with championship matches at noon.

Jill Marlow, program director of the Flathead Soccer Club and State Showcase Tournament coordinator, said 67 teams from 12 Montana cities (Big Sky, Billings, Bozeman, Butte, Great Falls, Helena, Missoula, Plains, Polson, Stevensville and Whitefish) will be in attendance.

Every team is guaranteed three matches.

Competing for the Flathead Force are three boys teams in U10, one in U11 and two in U12.

The Flathead Force girls will have one team in U10 and one in U12, which is a combo team of U11 and U12 players.

There is no admission charge and food vendors will be on site.

“It’s been a great year,” Marlow said. “We’re already gearing up for the fall season. We will be opening registration for that soon. We expect numbers to be very good for the fall.”

The local fall season is for U10-U13 players.

“Everybody but high school,” she said.

The fall season begins in mid-August and ends late October and concludes with the Tamarack Tournament.

Earlier this month Kidsports hosted the Three Blind Refs Tournament, which had 140-plus teams in attendance.
