Edna M. Ridenour, 103

Edna M. Ridenour, 103, passed away June 10, 2019, in the company of her family. She began her 103 trips around the sun on May 5, 1916, in Pueblo, Colorado.

Edna lived with her parents Leonard and Laura Seville and nine siblings until she was 16. While attending high school in Columbia Falls, she met Rachel Ridenour. They became best friends and together decided Edna should come live with the Ridenour family at Lake Five. They graduated from high school together in 1934.

Edna married Harold Ridenour in 1937. Together for 59 years at Lake Five, they raised six children, strawberries, and kept a home and refuge for many friends and relatives.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband Harold, daughter Judy, her parents, and eight brothers and sisters.

She is survived by one brother Fred Seville, children Bud Ridenour, Kay Ridenour, Donne Rae Thompson, Guy Ridenour and Robin Ridenour, 11 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Always restless and full of energy, Edna was proud that she could work harder and longer than anyone else. Her home and beach at Lake Five were always available to anyone who asked.

Edna and Harold long held that the water on Lake Five should be enjoyed by all, leading to the eventual creation of Paul’s Fishing access on Lake Five.

A visitation for Edna will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Friday, June 14, at Columbia Mortuary. A funeral service for Edna will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, at Columbia Mortuary. Burial will follow services on Saturday at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery in Kalispell.

A gathering of friends and family will continue on Saturday, after services at 2:30 p.m. at her Lake Five beach and house.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations made be made to Coram West Glacier Volunteer fire department or the Flathead Valley Food Bank.
