Anna Marie Schlinger Sampson, 65, went to be with her Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of June 23, 2019, in Helena, following a short fight with cancer.

Anna was born on Dec. 11, 1953, in Whitefish to Kenneth and Jessie Schlinger. She attended school in Whitefish. Anna met and married Lester Sampson of Victor in 1975. Together they had two sons, Kristian and Loren, whom she raised to be wonderful, kind and loving young men.

In her 40s Anna returned to college where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Montana.

At the time of her passing she lived in Helena and worked for the state of Montana. She was active in her church, The Last Chance Chapel.

Anna was a loving woman who loved her Savior and knew she has a home in heaven.

Anna was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ed and Clara Schlinger; maternal grandparents, Ralph “Spike” and Emma Hennessy; parents, Ken and Jessie Schlinger; sister, Merisha; and brother, Mel Schlinger; brother-in-law, Ron Kuehne; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Anna is survived by her sons, Kristian (Jenni) and Loren (Lina) Sampson; grandchildren, Meagan, Abby, Kalina and Alexander; great-grandchild, Jovi; brothers, Kenneth, Jeffrey, Brendon and John (Allyssa) Schlinger; sisters, Rebecca (Vernon) Carlson, Bonnie Kuehne, Lynnette, Norma, Samantha Schlinger and Raven (Russ) Seal; and many nieces and nephews.

Anna was a loving daughter and sister and will be missed by her many family and friends.

There will be a memorial at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, at The Last Chance Chapel on Raven Road, Helena. Then a family memorial will take place on July 20 during our annual family reunion at Tally Lake, Montana, (time to be announced at a later date).

Donations can be made in Anna’s name to Wounded Warrior Project or Friends of Israel.
