Nancy Rae (Beebe) Clapper, 76

Our beautiful mother, Nancy Rae (Beebe) Clapper, 76, went to rest with her Lord and Savior on March 11, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy was born July 31, 1942, in Kalispell to Chauncey and Beatrice (Blades) Beebe and was raised in Columbia Falls. She graduated from Columbia Falls High School in 1960 and married Charles “Charlie” H. Clapper on July 2,1960.

Before starting a family, she worked at Danny’s Drive-In and the phone company as a switchboard operator.

Nancy and Charlie raised their three daughters in Kalispell and spent most of their time camping and enjoying family. Nancy was a homemaker, Awana’s and Sunday School teacher, 4-H leader, Avon representative, and talented crafter, enjoying tole painting, crocheting and sewing. As her daughters were getting older, she re-entered the workforce and returned to the phone company where she retired in 1997.

She traveled the entire United States collecting and selling antiques with her sister, Dixie Emerson. Their business, Two Sisters’ Antiques, gave her great joy.

Their adventures also took them to Australia, New Zealand and most of Europe with their traveling companions, sister Eva Markus, and nephews Dennis Lund and Steve Apgar.

Mom went to many glorious places in all her travels, but reached her most glorious destination, heaven, on March 11, 2019.

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Revelation 21:4

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Charlie Clapper; her parents, Buck and Bea Beebe; sisters, Laura Owens and Donna Larson; and nephew, Eric Emerson.

Nancy is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law of Kalispell, Darci (John) Wilkins, Jacey (Rob) Barnaby, and Jill (Steve) Shaver; her beloved grandchildren, Loren Rodgers, Bailee Shaver, Josh and Madlyn Barnaby; siblings, Dixie Emerson, Don Beebe and Eva Markus; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 15, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home. A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, at Adventure Church, located at 348 Second Avenue West, Kalispell. Burial will take place at Glacier Memorial Gardens and a luncheon will follow at Adventure Church.
