Truck sale haunts man years later

A man on Helena Flats Road told Flathead County Sheriff’s Office he sold his truck years ago and the person never registered it in their name and he was recently contacted by someone stating he needed to pick the vehicle up or pay fines. The man allegedly picked up the truck and then three men showed up at his house wanting it. He thought the men had some sort of relation to the person he originally sold it to.

Someone was suspicious of a young man who stopped by their Twin Acres Drive residence in Kalispell asking for a ride and looked like he had been outside for a long time and seemed “out of it.” The resident thought he may be going through vehicles in the area. The young man apparently tried his luck at another Twin Acres residence when someone told deputies he reportedly rang their doorbell.

Concerned parents on Bierney Creek Road in Lakeside said their teenage son only took a water bottle before leaving and had been gone 30 minutes to an hour ago. They wanted to speak to a deputy before reporting him as a runaway. Deputies advised the parents they shouldn’t call on search and rescue for a teenager who threw a fit and ran off, but they would look for him in the area. The parents located the teen and wanted officers to speak to him and tell him that “running away is a big deal” and explain what “things he could be charged with.”

Someone on U.S. 2 in Columbia Falls reported their 34-year-old son was throwing things around.

A woman on Evergreen Drive claimed people were trying to get into her house and knocked down two cameras she had set up but didn’t know how to work. She gave the memory card to deputies, yet no one was seen damaging the security system on the footage.

A puzzled Fifth Avenue East resident told Kalispell Police Department a man wearing makeup and a fur coat was ringing her doorbell asked if the person’s husband “ordered some girls,” and appeared to be whispering to someone before darting away. The woman said she had video footage if needed.

A car wash employee reported someone came in with two transactions and purportedly cashed $1,000. The employee said he was told to call in if someone showed up and tried to cash a large amount of coins.

A male with a scruffy beard stole a pair of $90 Supra brand black high-tops in size 11 from the mall.
