Helen Louise Hunt White, 93

Helen Louise Hunt White, 93, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2019 in Helena. She is the daughter of Howard Jasper Hunt and Tuni Louise Mattson Hunt. She is survived by her sister, Marjorie Field of Longview, Washington; her daughters, Mary Burns, Maureen White, Colleen Drake, and Patty White, all of Helena; her sons-in-law, James Burns and Curt Drake of Helena; and her grandchildren, Patrick Burns of Missoula, Sarah Burns of Fallbrook, California, Michael Drake of Chicago, Illinois, and Jonathan Drake of Helena. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, James White; and her brothers, Matthew Hunt and David Hunt.

Helen was born in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead County High School. She is a graduate of the University of Montana where she became a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, and then completed her internship in Medical Technology at Madison General Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Helen then moved to Tacoma, Washington to work at the Pierce County Hospital laboratory as a Medical Technologist for one year. She returned to Montana, marrying Maury White in Billings. After raising her children, Helen continued her career as a Medical Technologist at St. Vincent Hospital where she worked for 20 years.

When Helen retired, she moved to Helena to be with her four daughters. She enjoyed her friends in the Helena community, traveling, dancing, and playing bridge. Helen loved her family dearly and enjoyed knowing what everyone was doing, including her nieces and nephews Tuni Stecker, Matt Westman, Tom Westman, Deirdre Meyer, Jonathan Hunt, and each of their families.

Helen lived at Aspen Gardens/Beehive Homes assisted living for the past three years, surrounded by caring staff and dear fellow residents who became her friends.

A memorial service will take place 2 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2019 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. in Helena.
