Lawrence John Athorn, 92

The Rev. Lawrence John Athorn, 92, of Bigfork, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at the Lakeview Care Center. He is survived by his wife Barbara, and his son Paul of Bigfork, and daughters Mary and Sarah of Pennsylvania.

Larry was born July 10, 1926, in Newark, New Jersey. He served in the military and the Army awarded him an Occupation Medal; afterward he married and completed seven years of post-graduate school.

He served God and the United Presbyterian Church, mostly in small rural churches throughout the Midwest.

Larry, Barbara and son Paul resided in Woods Bay after they re-built a Flathead school into their home, where they have lived almost 30 years.

He was greatly loved, and will be missed.
