Loggers take out Lions, 14-8

LIBBY — Libby used a strong start to beat Eureka 14-8 in nonconference softball play on Tuesday.

The Loggers scored seven runs in the first inning en route to the victory.

Eureka rallied in the fourth inning, scoring three runs but Libby kept pace with five runs.

Pitcher Kiera Ward went the distance and pitched all seven innings, allowing 12 hits. She was 1 for 4 at the plate and one RBI.

Linsey Walker hit 3 for 4, doubled and had two RBI.

Samantha Miller doubled and had two RBI.

Eureka’s Rhianna Hawkins homered.

Avory Escobar pitched six innings and hit 3 for 4 at the plate.
