Lewis F. McCready, 89

Lewis F. McCready, 89, of Whitefish, passed away May 5, 2019, at the Veterans Home.

Lewis was born July 27, 1929, in Ronan to Charles and Alice McCready. He was a farm hand until entering the service in 1951. Following his honorable discharge in 1953 from the U.S. Army, Lewis began working on the railroad. After 41 years of service to Great Northern Railroad and BNSF he retired and lived in Whitefish.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents Alice and Charles, four brothers, one sister, wife Mary Jane McCready, and his son Kevin McCready.

Lewis is survived by his wife Georgia McCready, children Cindy and Kim Peterson, Linda and Willie Stacy, Trena and Jeff Boyd, and Travis and Jodi Brousseau; two sisters, three brothers, 10 grandchildren, and five great- grandchildren.

Lewis was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved fixing things for family and friends. His greatest joy was spending time with all the grandkids. We love you and will miss you!

A graveside committal with military honors will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 11, at Glacier Memorial Gardens.

Donations may be made to the Columbia Falls Veterans Home.
