Sound and the fury - turn down the bass

| May 8, 2019 4:00 AM

In Columbia Falls, a Fourth Avenue resident claimed neighbors were playing their music loud. How loud? So loud that it purportedly caused pictures to vibrate right off the wall. Columbia Falls Police advised a woman to turn down the bass. The resident called back reportedly complaining she did not turn it down. They were advised to file a complaint with the landlord.

Police received a report from someone “who is no longer in the area, but is originally from the Flathead,” alleging she saw a man in Virgina post something about another man’s 11-year-old niece and sent her inappropriate messages.

A man’s brother allegedly told him that his other brother was attempting to kick in the front door of a house on First Avenue.

Hungry Horse Fire Department responded to a “suspicious event” on Third Avenue in Hungry Horse.

A drunk man who was being kicked out of a U.S. 2 establishment was reportedly throwing chairs, screaming and got physical with employees. The man purportedly met up with his lawyer in the parking lot, who advised employees to call Kalispell Police Department. A taxi was requested, however, the man’s purported reputation for having violent tendencies preceded him and he may have been turned down.

Someone called because they saw an employee chasing a man and believed he was a shoplifter. The running man allegedly took off his shirt and put it in his backpack, then put on a black hat before heading toward East Idaho Street and then tossing the backpack near garbage cans in an alley. Police contacted the store about the incident.

Transients were in a park pavilion with at least one open container that was reportedly visible to the person calling in the complaint. Open container citations were issued.

Some destructive kids were seen rocking a metal bench back and forth causing it to break from the ground, possibly in Depot Park. Video surveillance supposedly showed the kids using the bench as a ramp for their scooters.
