Katherine 'KC' Hutchens, 68

| May 29, 2019 4:00 AM

Katherine “KC” Hutchens passed away Feb. 5, 2019, in Mesa, Arizona.

KC was born Nov. 5, 1950 in Pocatello, Idaho.

KC and Woodrow “woody” Hutchens met in Lakeside and were married Nov. 26, 1968, in Kalispell. There they had their children, William “Butch,” Dixie Lee, and Katy Jo. They moved to Columbia Falls in 1978. There they both lived until Woody’s passing in 2009. KC spent many years working at Kalispell Regional Hospital. She then went on to open K and C Pawn and Stuff in Columbia Falls. After that, she spent her spare time quilting and crocheting, pretty much anything crafty with her friends. She also loved to travel — everywhere from Texas in her ‘55 Chevy Bel Air, to Alaska on “scooter and shotgun,” to the Veterans Run for the Wall, in D.C. These travels led her to Apache Junction, then Mesa to spend the winters.

KC was preceded in death by Woody, Dixie Lee, her mother, her brothers Michael and Rex, and her sister Patt Clay.

KC leaves behind her father, her son Butch, his wife Nova Lee, and their sons, Daniel and Jacob, and her daughter Katy Jo, and her sweetie, Dean, all of Columbia Falls; and her acquired children, TJ and Carol Toaves, and their son, Matthew, and Chrissy Frerich and her daughters, Brianna and Jayla, of Kalispell; many much loved brothers- and sisters-in-law; and too many good friends to count.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on June 1 at 406 Auction House located at 3581 Montana 40. Butch and Katy have decided to not bury the ashes at this time, possibly at a later date.
