Visit from 'Cat in the Hat' not welcome

A woman on Swamp View Lane in Kila told Flathead County Sheriff’s Office a man purportedly wearing a “Cat in the Hat” style red and white top hat and black sweats showed up and tried to get into her house to use the restroom. The man, who supposedly smelled of alcohol, claimed he knew her husband, but she had never seen him before and didn’t let him in. Officers made contact with Mr. Cat in the Hat on U.S. 2 and advised him to stay away.

Officers received a report from a man on Hodgson Road in Columbia Falls who claimed his mother was drunk and his dog was missing. He thought she may have given the dog away, but no dogs matching the description he gave were at the shelter.

A man with a security company called deputies from Fairmont Road to tell them he was purportedly going to do a training exercise where people would be in the back of vehicles with black bags over their heads.

Someone on U.S. 2 in Kalispell wanted officers to walk through a casino where a man with a goatee gave a baggie and took money from another man.

A casino worker on Montana 35 in Kalispell reported a shattered front door and it was unknown if anyone was still inside.

A 2005 black Subaru Outback was reported stolen on Farm to Market Road near Whitefish.

Someone was concerned about the welfare of a man seen lying behind a sign on Montana 35 in Bigfork because it was 15 degrees and he didn’t have a blanket or sleeping bag.

Someone claiming to be an administrator calling from Farm to Market Road near Whitefish reported damage to a school van.

Someone allegedly kicked in a door and stole tools on Parliament Drive in Kalispell.
