Terry Rae Johnson, 64

Terry Rae Johnson, 64, of Bigfork, was born on Nov. 17, 1954, at St. James Hospital in Butte to Ray and Carol Johnson. In 1965 Terry moved to Bozeman with her family. She lived in Bozeman until she graduated from Bozeman High School in 1973. After high school Terry moved back to Butte where she worked miscellaneous jobs until she married Jim Johnson on Sept. 6, 1975.

Terry lived in Butte with her husband Jim Johnson for a few years before moving to the family ranch in Divide. There, she helped work the family ranch while raising their three kids. In 1999 Jim and Terry divorced. Terry and the kids moved to her parents’ cherry orchard in the Flathead Valley. During this time, she got a job at Frontier Log Furniture where she met her significant other, Mike Burge. She worked at Frontier for 18 years until she became ill with cancer. While fighting that battle, Terry Johnson passed away Nov. 8, 2019, at 3 a.m. at Kalispell Regional Medical Center surrounded by her kids and loved ones.

Terry is survived by her mother, Carol Johnson; her significant other Mike Burge; her children, Eric Johnson, Keith and Jasmine Johnson, Leslie Johnson and Stephen Penrod; her brothers and sisters, Bob Johnson, Bill and Amy Johnson, Roy and Linda Johnson, Shana and Danny Lee, and Gary Johnson; her grandchildren, Teddy Johnson, Brooke Johnson and Sophia Johnson; and many other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, and will be at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home in Kalispell. Terry will be laid to rest at Bigfork Community Cemetery following the chapel service; following the cemetery service there will be a potluck gathering at the family orchard, 23126 Yellow Bay Lane in Bigfork.
