U.S. Attorney General Barr to visit Kalispell for meth roundtable
Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., will host U.S. Attorney General William Barr for a roundtable discussion on Montana’s methamphetamine crisis at 2 p.m. Friday at the Flathead County Sheriff’s Posse Center.
Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino, U.S. Marshal Rod Ostermiller and Northwest Montana Drug Task Force Commander Logan Shawback are among the local law-enforcement figures scheduled to attend the discussion. The event is not open to the public.
“It’s my honor to bring United States Attorney General William Barr to Kalispell this Friday to join me and members of our local law-enforcement community as we address ways of combating the devastating meth crisis in Montana,” Daines said in a video clip sent to the press.
Barr will be the second major national political figure this year to visit Montana to discuss the meth situation. In June, Daines addressed the crisis with Vice President Mike Pence in Billings.
