Janet Rae (Barnard) Lasater, 75

Janet Rae (Barnard) Lasater, 75, of Kalispell, passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 21 with her family by her side after a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. Janet’s strength and determination were an inspiration to all and she will be deeply missed.

Janet was born March 22, 1944 in Kalispell and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Flathead High School in 1962.

She married her true love and husband of 57 years, Ed, in 1962 and their family grew with the adoption of Justin in 1973 and Jesse in 1977.

Janet is survived by her husband Ed, daughter and son-in-law Jesse and Kris Keller, son and daughter-in-law Justin and Amber and granddaughter Madison, sisters-in-law Sandra Rosetti, Olivia Pauli and niece Jamie Lyman, stepsiblings, numerous relatives and many dear friends.

Janet loved all outdoor activities, horses and dancing but was happiest spending time with her family, friends and her beloved dogs.

The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Place for the kindness and care given to Janet.

A celebration of life will be held at the family home from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, with a bonfire to honor Janet’s love of the outdoors. All are welcome to come and share your favorite memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Save a Sister Flathead County or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
